Community Education and Outreach Sponsorship ProgramEvery fiscal year First 5 sets aside funding to sponsor local events and community activities. First 5 will sponsor up to one (1) event per agency per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). Event sponsorship is provided up to $1,000 per event. Sponsorship's will be awarded until the current fiscal year’s budgeted sponsorship funds are depleted. First 5 will evaluate requests based on the event’s potential to meet goals and priorities stated in Commission's strategic plan. A request for sponsorship does not guarantee award of funding. Mini Grant ProgramFirst 5 offers mini grants of up to $4,000 for individual short term projects that benefit children 0 through 5 years of age and their families in Yuba County. Applications will be evaluated based on the projects potential to meet goals and priorities stated in Commission's strategic plan. An application submission does not guarantee award of funding. Awards are available until February 2021 or until the current fiscal year’s budgeted mini-grant funds are depleted.
Strategic Partnership Program First 5's Strategic Partnership Program is a formal selection process to award grant funds for services aligning with the Commission's strategic plan. Qualified applicants are solicited to provide professional services that address the prominent needs of children prenatal through 5 years of age and their families in Yuba County. The agreements typically are multi-year contracts and performance measures are required.
Unsolicited Funding ProposalsUnsolicited funding proposals are proposals over $1,000 from organizations that were not invited or requested by First 5. Unsolicited funding proposals must target children 0 through 5 years of age and their families in Yuba County and must be consistent with the Commission’s strategic plan. Applications if made available will be accepted from April 1st through December 31st of each year. During the month of March following this period, the Commission, at its discretion, may act on proposals received. An application submission does not guarantee award of funding. The purpose of establishing this application and review process is to provide the Commission the opportunity to review unique services, unexpected opportunities and/or innovative programs.
