First 5 Commission

Commissioners
A seven member volunteer commission oversees the work of First 5 in Yuba County, which supports the health, development and well-being of our youngest children through their first five years. Commissioners are selected and appointed by the Yuba County Board of Supervisors based upon their expertise in early care and education, health care, social services and children with special needs. The full commission meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 3:30 p.m. Meetings are held on Zoom until further notice.

Advisory Committee
The Advisory Committee is made up of community members from diverse backgrounds that provide the Commission input concerning the needs of children 0-5 years and their families from all parts of the county. Advisory Committee meetings are regularly scheduled the first Tuesday of every third month from 1:00 pm-2:30 pm. Meeting time and location may vary.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is made up of two Commissioners: the current Chair, Vice-Chair of the Commission and Executive Director. The Executive Committee meets with staff to review financials, operations and prepare Commission meeting agendas. Executive Committee meetings are regularly scheduled the second Monday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Yuba County One Stop in Marysville.
