A playgroup is a gathering of similarly aged children and their parents or caregivers. . These regularly scheduled groups support children's social development, ease the transition to school, and improve overall health, while also providing social and health support to parents, knowledge sharing, and learning opportunities

First 5 Fridays are held in the outdoor space of the Yuba County Library, the first Friday of every month at 10:00am. The purpose is to create a space for children 0-5 to come together to play and for parents/caregiver to gather information about First 5 events and services, ask question about their child's development and milestones, and learn fun ways to help their child learn and grow.
Each month will have a different theme and a fun activity for children to participate in and/or take home.

Join First 5 Yuba County us at the Free World of Wonders Playgroups for fun and interactive play & developmentally appropriate activities. For all caregivers, parents, grandparents and family friends and neighbors who care for children age 0-5 in Yuba County
In a playgroup, children get the opportunity to practice their social skills in a safe, familiar setting. Adults can get both friendship and support from people who understand exactly what they are going through.

Funded by First 5 Yuba County, Playzeum's 18 week session of structured Playgroups connect and educate parents/caregivers and offer a playful environment for children to socialize and learn.
Playgroups are offered weekly in Olivehurst and Wheatland and are FREE to Yuba County families with children 2 months to 5 years.
A $20 materials fee is required for the 18 week session but scholarships are available for anyone in need.

Call 530-763-5134 for more information or to request a scholarship. No family is turned away due to lack of ability to pay. We make it work for all.

MJUSD partners with First 5 Yuba and the Yuba County Office of Education to provide a school readiness program. All children under the age five in Yuba County are eligible for free parent and child activities designed to encourage positive one-to-one interactions and provide quality time for bonding and learning.

Child Development Programs
The Child Development Program currently serves approximately 550 students throughout the Marysville Joint Unified School District. Students participate in one of three different programs; State Preschool, Child Care, and Latchkey, that are located at 11 different sites throughout the District. There are 20 teachers, 25 assistants, 2 secretaries, one custodian, and one director that work within the Child Development Program to provide services to children.

Camptonville Community Partnership partners with First 5 Yuba to provide "1,2,3 Grow," a parent/child enrichment and kindergarten readiness program offered Tuesday and Thursdays weekly from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the Camptonville Elementary School campus.

E-Center provides services for Early Head Start, Head Start, Migrant Seasonal Head Start, and Migrant Early Head Start. Services are provided for children ages 0-5. All Services are provided FREE of cost to participants. To fulfill the Head Start mission, services are provided to promote child development in the areas of school readiness, physical, emotional, dental, nutritional health and the development of social and emotional skills.
