Professional Development Program

The Child Care Planning Council of Yuba & Sutter Counties is now accepting applications for the 2018-2019 Keys to Quality Stipend Program.  The program provides a stipend for qualifying staff in early education programs serving children 0-5 within Sutter and Yuba Counties.  The application linked below to those who may be interested.

For licensed family child care and preschool/center based providers.

Background: The CARES Plus Project is funded through matching funds from First 5 California, Sutter County Children & Families Commission, and First 5 Yuba. The CARES Plus program is dedicated to increasing the quality of early learning programs for children ages 0 to 5 and their families by supporting the education and professional development of an effective, well-compensated, and diverse early learning workforce.

Eligibility Requirements
All participants must meet each of the following eligibility requirements:
  • Employed with a licensed family child care home or center in Yuba or Sutter County;
  • Maintain employment for the program year.
  • Work directly with children ages 0-5 years old, a minimum of 15 hours per week in an assigned classroom;
  • Earn less than $60,000 per year
  • Hold, or apply for a child development permit during the program year.
Incentives
  • CORE Training Incentive (all first year participants) up to $500;
  • Component A Incentive (21 hours CDE approved workshops) up to $350;
  • Component B Incentive (6 units towards AA up to $800; 12 units towards BA/MA up to $1000);
  • Component D Incentive (My Teaching Partner individual video mentoring) up to $1000

Please note: Potential participants must attend an Application Workshop. Applications are not mailed. Incentives are awarded after all project requirements are completed and supporting documents are submitted by scheduled due date.
