Positive Discipline is a  virtual parenting series facilitated by a Child Development Behavioral Consultant. Each week will address a new topic, such as:

  • The No Parent and the Yes Parent: Finding the Balance

  • Why We Sometimes Lose Our Cool: Brain Basics

  • I've Told Them a Thousand Times: Help Your Child Listen to Learn and Learn to Listen

First 5 Yuba Playgroups allow caregivers to gain hands-on experience with developmentally appropriate practices. These regularly scheduled groups:

  • support children's social development

  • ease the transition to school

  • improve overall health

  • provide social and health support to parents, knowledge sharing, and learning opportunities

  • Stepping with Baby: A weekly walking group for expecting parents, and those with a child ages 0-5.

    • Meets Fridays, March-October, from 9-10:30 am at POW/MIA Park in Edgewater.​

    • Call 530-749-4049 for information

  • Blue Shift Project of Yuba-Sutter: We can provide help to pregnant and parenting individuals who are experiencing symptoms of mood and anxiety disorders such as postpartum depression. We partner with families to develop support plans and coping strategies and connect with treatment providers and other resources if desired. If you would like to make a referral for yourself or someone you know, please visit findhelp.org to be connected with a local care navigator. 

  • Dad's Night Out: A space for fathers and father-figures, to gather together, enjoy a meal, engage in fun activities with their child, and build friendships with other dads. ​​

    • Joins us at the Tri Counties Community Center, between 5-8:00pm, for one of the 2024 dates (Jan 16th, March 19th, and May 21st)

TRIPLE-P: Positive Parenting Program

Parenting Education provide essential tools and knowledge, empowering parents to raise confident, healthy, and well-adjusted children. Through parenting education, you can:

  • Enhance parental empowerment and competency

  • Foster positive parenting practices

  • Strengthen social connections

  • Improve parent-child interactions

  • Promote better child behavior

  • Reduce the use of corporal punishment and risk of abuse

  • Boost parental mental health and well-being

Peer support groups for parents offer immense value by providing a sense of community and shared experience. These groups:

  • Reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness

  • Provide emotional support and understanding from others who face similar challenges

  • Encourage personal growth and confidence in parenting abilities

  • Create opportunities for building lasting friendships and social networks

  • Improve overall mental health and well-being through shared experiences and mutual support

Weekly Walking Groups are for expecting parents, new parents and/or parents & caregivers with a child ages 0-5.

Father's Matter is an ongoing group dedicated to Yuba County fathers and father- figures.

  • Meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, from 3:30-4:30, September-Decemer at the Yuba-Sutter Arts Building, 630 E Street in Marysville. 

The Blue Shift Project of Yuba-Sutter provides: 

  • Help for pregnant and parenting individuals in the perinatal period and beyond

  • Partnership with families to develop support plans and coping strategies

  • Connection to treatment providers and other resources if desired
